We want to take a moment to Thank Baby Jesus and YouTube for the live stream because like many of you, we were unable to attend Coachella this year. We caught the two-hour performance of the queen from the comfort of our bed.

History was made this weekend at The Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival. Beyonce became the first Black Woman to ever headline the festival. This is another accomplishment she can add to her belt.

Since last year performance was canceled due to her pregnancy Beyonce and her team put together a spectacular performance for this year’s event, which left everyone speechless.

The theme for the night was inspired by (HBCU) Historically Black Colleges and Universities (institutions of higher education in the US that were established before the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which served African Americans. This was because the overwhelming majority of predominantly white institutions disqualified African Americans during segregation) and Black Greek life. The Queen performed with a 200-person band, which included a majorette and a drum line. We don’t know about you, but we are ready to join Beyonce University and pledge Beta Delta Kappa this upcoming semester. Who’s joining us?

Beyonce had her fan in suspense with rumors of a Destiny Child’s reunion. Well, the suspense was over when Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined B on stage. Jay-Z also blessed us with his presence and performed “Déjà Vu” with his wife. Baby sister Solange also performed “Get Me Bodied” with The Queen.

As much as we loved the Queen’s performs, her five-outfit wardrobe flawed us. Beyonce and her team enlisted Creative Director of Fresh Fashion Balmain, Olivier Rousteing. The union came together when stylist Marni Senofonte approached Rousteing after his Fall 2018 runway show. “Marni told me that the shows were all about survivors and that B was looking for something in a military style,” Rousteing says. The Queen walked on stage wearing an Egyptian Queen Cape inspired by Queen Nefertiti, which was embellished, with thousand of black and gold sequins. The hat, tall round and decorated with a black feather. Rousteing created the custom outfits for each of her performances dressed the 200 plus dancers on stage and also Kelly and Michelle’s outfits.

The Queens has set the bar high which leaves us to wonder what else does she have up her sleeve for the remainder of the year.
